A complex decision is rarely made by one person in one sentence. The customer may need information, confidence, internal alignment, or time. The moment may also genuinely be wrong. HEAR does not assume that every pause is a signal.

Who will be thinking?

The speaker may need to explain the decision to an owner, finance leader, technical expert, or procurement. Each participant has a different task, fear, and criterion. If their realities never entered the conversation, the contact is left to perform the internal sale alone.

When presentation leaves work behind

A long list of features forces the customer to select what matters, connect it with the task, and explain the benefit internally. BUSV takes another route: one heard pain, a short return to the consequences, one relevant feature, and the benefit as a path toward the desired state.

Management question

What part of the decision did the team leave for the customer to assemble on their own?

Do not close the pause with pressure

A choice between two next steps is appropriate only after readiness has been heard. When a pause appears, returning to what remains unclear is more professional than narrowing the choice.
